Hello Nation Ford High School Band Parents!!!
Please allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Jefflyn Covington and Julianne Best and we are the co-chairs for Nation Ford HS Band Camp this year. We would love to give you a little information about camp. As you've already heard, there are lots of ways to help!!!!
CHAPERONING
Days/Hours Needed:
Monday, 8/02 thru Thursday, 8/05: 8:30am - 11:30am and 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Friday, 8/06: 8:30am – 11:30am and (approximately) 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Monday, 8/09: 8:30am - 11:30am and (approximately) 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Tuesday, 8/10: 8:30am - 11:30am and (approximately) 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Tuesday, 8/10: 4:00pm ****SHOW PRESENTATION**** YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS THIS!!!
Chaperones are needed to be outside with the students while they practice. Volunteers can work the whole time or part of the time, whichever fits your schedule best. We set up tents, keep water supplied and give general assistance to band students (It gets hot!!). HOSPITALITY/SERVING MEALS
Days/Hours Needed:
Monday, 8/02 - Thursday, 8/05: 11:00am - 1:00pm and 4:15pm - 6:00pm
Friday, 8/06: 11:00am - 1:00pm
Monday, 8/09 - Tuesday, 8/10: 11:00am - 1:00pm
Hospitality volunteers help set up and serve meals, drinks, and clean up afterwards. If you are unable to help with a meal, we always need people to bring in baked goods (such as cookies, brownies, rice crispy treats) for the kids to enjoy. For those of you who would like to help with hospitality, either by helping to serve or baking, or would like general information, you may call JULIANNE at 802-7707 or e-mail to ajbest@comporium.net. Please indicate the days and hours you are available to work (or bake).
UNIFORMS
If you can sew WE NEED YOU!! Robin Witmer is our Uniform Chairperson and will also need volunteers to help during Band Camp with sewing (flags, etc.) and making uniform alterations as our band members are fitted in their uniforms. ***NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A MASTER SEAMSTRESS TO HELP*** If you can help during Band Camp, anytime throughout the band season, or would like general information, you may contact Robin at 547-0374 or RSWitmer4@yahoo.com. She will contact everyone with a schedule at a later date.
DONATIONS
If you are unable to help during the day by chaperoning or helping to serve meals, donations are always needed and greatly appreciated! Here is a wish list of things needed for camp this year:
5 ounce or 3 ounce PLASTIC cups (the wax ones melt in the heat)
Band-Aids, Mole Skin, Ace Bandages
Benadryl-sticks, cream, or spray
Pain Relievers-Advil, Motrin, Tylenol (individually wrapped if possible)
Upset stomach medicine-Pepcid, Tums (no Pepto-Bismol, please)
First Aide Cream
Bug Spray
Sunscreen
Quart and Gallon Size plastic bags
And we ALWAYS need BOTTLED WATER!!! (we use this throughout the band season)
**Donations may be dropped off at any time during music or band camp
Please consider helping out with band camp or getting involved throughout the year. Band is a wonderful experience for our kids - and us, too!!! We love being involved with this great group and invite you to experience some of the excitement and ongoing rewards we are able to see all year long!
