First of all, a huge thanks goes out to everyone - see list of names below - who has helped make this Verizon season such a huge success. So far this season (6 concerts), 90 volunteers or 58 band families have worked a total of 1,068 hours. Not only has this small army of 90 volunteers representing 58 band families raised a significant amount of money to help offset expenses for ALL 300 BAND FAMILIES, they have actually managed to have a pretty good time doing it. They also earned $2,410 to pay for their own student's fees!!!

 

It's never too late to come out and help at Verizon. Wouldn't it be great if every band family participated in at least one concert rather than only 20% of the families doing 100% of the Verizon work?

 

Our volunteers play a very instrumental role in helping the students achieve their goals - ‘Being the Best They Can Be’!!! It is truly amazing how we have two high school bands that continue the “tradition of excellence” the bands from the Fort Mill School District are known for - and two booster clubs that work together on common goals. Not only do we have a great band staff in all of the schools in the Fort Mill School District but we have excellent support by the band parents that enables the band directors, assistants and outside staff to focus on our children while we, the band parent/family, help keep the band machine running by providing the necessary resources for the students and staff to be successful.

 

But we can't relax just yet. Now is the time to come to the aid of your fellow band families. Over a 10 day period starting Friday 7/16, we have 6 concerts including 5 concerts over 5 days in a row. Please come out an help support the band programs and the students by volunteering at a minimum of 2 concerts. The upcoming schedule is as follows (please sign-up via the website):

• Wednesday 7/21 - Dave Matthews Band - Prep 3:30 pm, Gates 5:30 pm, Concert 7 pm, Park in Lot F  ALL POS WINDOWS WILL BE OPEN!!!

• Thursday 7/22 - Warped Tour - Prep 9 am, Gates 11 am, Concert 11 am, Park in Lot F  ALL DAY CONCERT & BIGGEST MONEY MAKING OPPORTUNITY OF THE YEAR. SHIFTS ARE AVAILABLE. ALL POS WINDOWS WILL BE OPEN!!!

• Friday 7/23 - Tim McGraw - Prep 4 pm, Gates 6 pm, Concert 7 pm, Park in Lot F

• Saturday 7/24 - Shine Down - Prep 2 pm, Gates 4 pm, Concert 5 pm, Park in Lot F
