Bank of America Stadium Fundraiser

Training session/site & stand visit THIS SATURDAY, 8/22 -- 9 am for leaders and 10 am for all others!!!
Car Pool: For those who want to car pool, please meet in the Food Lion parking lot at the intersection of Hwy 160 and Gold Hill Rd. an hour prior to your training time - 9 am training should meet at 8 am, leave by 8:15 am; 10 am training should meet at 9:00 am, leave by 9:15 am. As you head east on Gold Hill (toward I-77), turn right at the entrance past the Wachovia. Park at the nearest end of the Food Lion lot, across from the former Fishbone Grill on the Gold Hill side, and between the strip center (Liberty Tax, Japanese restaurant, Scuba Place, etc) and the carwash/garage (on the right as you face Food Lion). Once you have parked you will just make your way up to the back of the stadium - you will go through a pedestrian security gate and walk into the bottom level of the stadium. Please tell them you are with the Fort Mill Band Boosters and are here to meet with Jessica Murphy for training and they will call us on the radio to meet you downstairs.
Directions: If you drive to the training session/site & stand visit, you will need to park in Lot# 5 which is a small lot located off of Graham Street. NOTE - This is NOT the main lot of the stadium so it is small; just look for a small driveway across from the Duke Energy parking deck off of Graham Street.
Google Map Directions: Take I-77 to I-277. Take exit 1D on 277 (Carson Blvd,) and then turn left at S. Mint St. Take it around the front of the stadium, and then turn left on S. Graham. That will take you around the back of the stadium; entrance to Lot 5 will be on your left.
We've just landed a huge opportunity to lower your band fees even more! Now, we need your help to make it happen. We have just agreed to take over a concession for all Panthers home games -- including exhibition, postseason, and the bowl game on 12/26 -- and we need a minimum of thirty (30) folks every game. Most importantly, WE NEED LEADERS!!! We've all heard requests to have the Panthers become part of our fundraising base; now's your chance to back it up! The Panthers concession program is privately run, operated by the Richardsons. That, in itself, should tell you that this is a first-class setup. Here are some basics:
We're looking at being there 2 hours before gates open, and working through. You CAN'T work flex hours; the sign-in gate is only open prior to gates opening. Thus, we can expect a minimum day of seven (7) hours or so.
No TIPS requirements. However, you must still be at least 18 and not a student in order to serve adult beverages. And you must still use your common sense when serving!
Minimum age requirement is 15; however, given the hours expected, this may not be the best option given the student workloads during the season.
Dress code: you will be provided a polo and visor (required). All hats must be the same. Khaki or black pants or shorts; NO CARGO STYLES. Closed toe/closed heel shoes, rubber-soled/slip-resistant.
We are required to provide lists five days in advance; we hope to have equal numbers of volunteers from each school. If one school is unable to meet their commitment, volunteers from the other school will be allowed to work in order of when they signed up. We will have a sign-up procedure similar to what we have in place for Verizon. Therefore, cut-off times for volunteering will be Tuesday night before the Sunday games. We will adjust the volunteer cut-offs for Monday and Thursday games and provide those through e-mail blasts.
Please sign up even if we have enough volunteers for a certain game. We will have a waiting list and fill in for opposite schools when needed. Points will be earned similarly to our Verizon setup; one point for every hour worked, double for group leaders. Funds will be distributed to schools similarly to our Verizon setup; based on the number of hours worked by school.
One more time: most importantly, WE NEED LEADERS!!! We can share these responsibilities between 2 or 3 people so that you are not committed to every game. We do need to be as consistent has possible.
For each game, we'll need a group leader, money handler, and inventory lead(s). Here are descriptions of each position; please consider if you can help the band by taking on one of these tasks for at least part of the season:
General group lead - The Group Lead will supervise the entire group; should be someone who can delegate responsibility well and is a person who the group volunteers respect. The Group Lead should be the main contact person for the group and is responsible for being at every event; answers directly to SF&B Supervisor with any problems or concerns.
Money handler - This person should be someone you have the highest level of trust within your group. They receive and verify the cash bank, distribute opening banks for the number of registers within a stand, provide change for registers as needed, ensure deposits are made according to deposit schedule, reconciles all cash, panther coins, credit receipts, and makes deposit at the end of the event.
Inventory lead(s) - We recommend two people to have a dual control on verification and reconciliation of stand inventory. One of these people could be the Group Lead but NOT the Money Handler. These people will verify their opening chargeable counts with assigned Stand Manager; organize chargeable products to one location prior to counting, and consolidate the inventory as the event is winding down. This person or persons should possess attention to detail, have good organization and math skills.
And, we also need window cashiers and food preps/runners.
How to sign up for an event at Bank of America stadium?
Go to the band website, click on the "Panther Schedule" selection on the lower left side of the page or top of this page. This brings up a sheet showing all sign-up events: first column tells when the gates open, time of event, and where to park. Second column gives the event name; third column gives additional info. Fourth column lets you select the event you want to sign up for, and the fifth column will take you to a roster for each event - once the page opens, click on the event from the selections at the top of the page. But let's go back to the fourth column...
Click on the blue button for the event you want to work. This will open up an email form, addressed to bandvolunteer@comporium.net, and fill in the blanks.
Move the cursor down and enter the school (NFHS, FMHS). Then move your cursor down to the blank space after Name 1, and type in your first name. The column will automatically widen. Then move the cursor over, enter a "Y" if you're 18 and older or "N" if not; then move over and enter "Y" if name 1 is a student, "N" if not. Repeat for any additional names.
If you want to carpool, enter "Y" where prompted.
Then enter any additional comments or info as needed.
That's it! Now - click "send" and you're done.
Once this is received, one of our volunteers will reply confirming you for the event. You will then see your name, and anyone else you signed up, on the roster for the corresponding event.
or you can contact Theresa Parker tparker@superiorconstruction.com or Steve Turner sjl_turner@comporium.net.
