We all know one of the major goals of the booster club is to provide financial support to the students and directors in order to help keep the level of the band program to what is expected and help the students achieve their goals. It takes a considerable amount of revenue to offer the students their well-deserved quality band experience. School budgets rarely cover the band's needs; the band boosters come to the rescue with extra funds to keep the program fiscally responsible. Our organization ensures the future of quality music education for the student musicians.
As we all know, long after budgets and the fee structure were established in May 2008, prices for just about everything from fuel to food increased over the summer due to the nation’s economy. Everyone has been impacted one way or another including the band booster clubs. Because of several things out of our control, our income from fundraising events is down. Several concerts at Verizon were postponed and attendance was down at many of their events, bands didn’t want to travel to our own York County Exhibition and all but one Bands of America Fall Preview events were cancelled around the country including the event scheduled in Fort Mill.
What do we need from you? Please get involved and support our next two fundraising events – details are below. If every band family sold two boxes of fruit AND sold two Oyster Roast/BBQ tickets, we could begin to recover the income planned for the above cancelled events.
We all know the importance of a good music education. Don't we all want to provide the most and best opportunities for our children?
Thanks in advance for volunteering to help our students achieve their goals and continuing the tradition of music excellence in the Fort Mill School District!!!
