What is it and when?
Our biggest fundraising opportunity is ready to kick off its 2010 concert season. We will continue our commitment this coming concert season by working several concession stands at all of the concerts at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. The current Verizon schedule including additional information can be found by following the "Verizon" link/button on the left side of the band's website.
Many events currently scheduled are Friday and Saturdays which is a nice change.
Several TIPS (adult beverage awareness training) and stand training events are coming up so please check the Verizon schedule or band calendar for more information.
Flexibility
Can't work an entire night? Can't arrive until later in the evening after gates open? Need to leave before concert gets out? Can I come early and help set-up and cook food? I prefer not to work a window - Can I work in the kitchen? Can I help manage one of the stands? The short answer is YES... Let us know your situation, time of arrival, preference, etc. and we will do our best to accommodate.
Why?
We all know one of the major goals of the booster club is to provide financial support to the students and directors of the band club in order to help keep the level of the band program to what is expected and help the students achieve their goals. It takes a considerable amount of revenue to offer the students their well-deserved quality band experience. School budgets rarely cover the band's needs; the band boosters come to the rescue with extra funds to keep the program fiscally responsible. Our organization ensures the future of quality music education for the student musicians.
Almost 72% of our fundraising income comes from working concessions at these concerts. We encourage ever family to participate so the work is spread out amongst all families and not just a few.
